Today GSTuning finished installation of a SMT6 piggyback unit into a

BMW E30 318is ´89.

Installing was fairly easy this time around without out any complications.

2.9.2010 Motronic 88pin Plug and Play VEMS     GSTuning is in the final stages of finalizing the designs and parameters of a new ecu that will work PnP for the BMW 88pin motronic users.   This includes these engines   M50 - non vanos M50tu - single vanos M52/S52 - single vanos Bosch S50 US 3.0 S50 3.0 Euro - with vanos delete S50 3.2 Euro - with vanos delete   The ecu features a new enclosure which houses the 88pin connector on front, a 16pin auxiliary connector on the back that allows the connection of a wideband sensor and inputs/outputs along with a serial connector, lcd connector, EGT connector and manifold pressure port. This is the first and only fully new PnP ECU for these BMW engines and it features some very exciting features and hardware designs.   The hardware has been designed to allow running without camsync in case the cam sensor fails. The hardware has also been designed to not allow any possible problems with the PnP aspect as there are no wires inside the case that can lead to problems in the future.     Features include :   Boost control Wideband control - the ecu has a built in wideband controller and so only a sensor is required against buying a seperate wideband controller.
